Enjoying a remote location surrounded by stunning scenery, this pretty and spacious detached cottage offers peace and tranquillity, and makes a fantastic base for a romantic retreat in the beautiful north-eastern corner of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The cottage is close to the picturesque village of Strathyre (0.5 miles) on the other side of a beautiful river running from Loch Voil. The area offers miles of breathtaking scenic walks and cycle routes to be enjoyed from the doorstep, as well as a range of Munros for keen climbers to bag. The river and glen around Balquhidder (6.5 miles) is steeped in history: the Balquhidder kirkyard attracts many visitors from around the world to see the resting place of the famous outlaw and folk hero Rob Roy. A range of water sports are available at Loch Earn only 8 miles away. When you have explored the beauty of the surrounding area take a daytrip to the major city of Stirling 25 miles away to indulge in art galleries, shopping, leisure and historic attractions.

Stepping inside this cheerful, fresh and traditional cottage, the light and welcoming open-plan kitchen/diner is an airy and attractive space perfect for preparing and sharing romantic meals for two. The dining area is in the corner by the patio doors, allowing plenty of light in, while the spacious fully equipped kitchen has ample room to create culinary treats. At the heart of this delightful room, a roaring wood burner gives the whole space a lovely warm glow. A few stairs lead down into the heart of the property: a cosy rustic-flavoured lounge with a beamed ceiling, wooden floors and a second wood burner, set in a lovely large fireplace. With cosy seating, Sky TV and an iPod dock, this is a relaxing space to unwind in at the end of an unforgettable day in this awe-inspiring part of Scotland. Exploring the cottage further, the hallway has traditional exposed stone walls and leads to a refreshing shower room. A few steps lead up into the tastefully decorated and elegantly furnished double bedroom.

The delightful garden has plenty of seating, with bird feeders dotted about so you can spot some of the many feathered visitors to this enchanting area. You may also glimpse an array of wildlife including red squirrels, pine martens, pheasants and deer.

Stroneyslaney Cottage is a beautiful, well kept cottage. Clearly put together with love. The location is remote but there are some lovely walks from the cottage. Lovely, comfortable cosy cottage with fabulous decor. Great location for exploring the local area. Beautiful walks in very close proximity. The garden is stunning with an abundance of wildlife that you can even watch from the lounge window! The owners are extremely kind and helpful.

We had a lovely time at Stroneslaney Cottage. Its set in a beautiful location, very tranquil. We loved sitting in the garden and watching the wildlife, we looked forward to our daily visits from Cyril (squirrel). Good location for dog walking.

The cottage is excellent! If youre looking for a sanctuary to see birds and red squirrels in the comfort of a couch, this is the place! Surrounded by birdsongs all day round. Its cosy and spacious. Beautiful cottage. Perfect location for a quiet relaxing holiday. We particularly enjoyed watching the red squirrels and many species of birds from the comfort of the sofa. My self my husband and our dog stayed here 2nd-9th September we had a lovely relaxing holiday the weather was fantastic and the wildlife was great. There were too many different kinds of birds to list. The two squirrels came every day and we could watch them from the living room. Our dog stood at the glass door enthralled. Lovely comfortable cottage in a perfect spot. Loved seeing all the birds on the feeders plus several red squirrels who loved the peanuts we put out. Never saw the pine marten but did see our first jay.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was quiet, relaxing just what we needed. Fantastic wildlife especially the red squirrels which gave our dog hours of entertainment. The welcome basket was very much appreciated, great location for exploring fantastic walks and climbing some of the munro's. Will definitely be back to bag some more munro's.
