This property enjoys a quiet, countryside location, on the owner’s farm, within walking distance of Berrynarbor’s handy shop and welcoming pub. The attractive seaside village of Combe Martin, with its picturesque beach, five pubs, and range of eateries is just over a mile away, whilst the popular town of Ilfracombe lies just four miles west of the property and offers a small harbour from which a number of interesting boat trips depart. A particularly pleasant trip takes visitors out into the Bristol Channel, to Lundy, where puffins and seals can be spotted, caves can be explored, and the view from the lighthouse can be enjoyed. This property has been tastefully and lovingly converted from a former farm barn and now offers a relaxing retreat sleeping two.

The ground floor of the property takes the form of a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a dining table seating two, comfortable sofa, TV/DVD. The light-filled kitchen area, which overlooks the garden, is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, allowing guests to prepare all their favourite meals, if they choose to eat-in. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor, with its shower-over-bath and WC. Open-tread wooden stairs lead to the mezzanine level king-size bedroom, which overlooks the living area  (Please note, this room has restricted headroom in places, due to the sloping ceilings).

Outside, there is a private, enclosed patio garden, with garden furniture, making a pleasant place to enjoy a quiet drink in the sun, or an alfresco meal.

We had a lovely few days away at The Old Dogs House at this dog-friendly cottage. The accommodation was spotless and was easy to find with a local shop and pub close by in the local village. Ilfracombe was a short car drive away as was Coombes Martin, with lots of lovely walks and plenty to do. We would thoroughly recommend eating at Sawmills FreehRead moreouse, where we ate several times during our stay and which is also dog friendly. We will definitely look at staying again in the future. Absolutely superb conversion, clean tidy and comfortable. Super nice village with an amazing pub. Highly recommend but it's only a little off the beaten track so you endure some tricky Devon roads. However a nice pint at that pub makes it worthwhile.

20/02/23 (4 nights) Mike and Sharon. This cottage has all you need for a short break, clean, tidy and well equipped. The local shop and pub are handy and both a short walk away. Roads in and out are a bit tight but no issues for us. Ilfracombe and Combe Martin a short drive away. The gift of a bottle of wine, biscuits and tea stuff is a nice touch.
