Bretforton is a traditional working village, it has a vibrant community and is well served with a well-established National Trust village inn, community store and year round events calendar that includes the annual asparagus auction, the Proms in the Park, the Bretforton Village Show and Open Gardens. The surrounding countryside is breath-taking and offers a glut of well way-marked paths for walkers of all abilities. Also, a short drive from Shakespeare’s birthplace with attractions to include Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Hall’s Croft, Mary Arden’s Farm and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Visit many of the Cotswold villages and market towns. With many National Trust properties nearby you’ll be spoilt for choice with gardens and houses open throughout the year.
Step off the main street and into this charming cottage. The lounge offers a warm welcome with the inglenook fireplace with wood burner taking centre stage. It is the perfect compliment to a chilly autumn evening watching a good movie and enjoying a glass of wine, the colourful soft furnishings complement the furniture. For a simple supper in front of the wood burner there is a small table and chairs. Continue through the cottage to the kitchen, traditional in style and well-equipped with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. At the end of the day climb the cottage stairs where you will find a king-size bedroom with exposed beams and views onto the high street. There is a further dressing room with room for a travel cot and access to a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.
Take a step outside into the enclosed courtyard with bistro table and chairs, a perfect place to retreat with a favourite book or glass of wine on a summer evening. There is roadside parking on the main street, subject to availability.
