We had a lovely time staying at Top Bank. It was excellent value for money and exactly what we were looking for - a beautiful old cottage, small but cosy, well located, full of character and period charm, and the perfect place to stay for a few days to get a break from the city. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in theRead more Lakes! Hide

Lovely little dog friendly place tucked away in the Lake District. If you want heating, you need to know how to use a log burner, only other heating source is a small plug in heater. For us with snow on the ground and a continuing frost, we couldn't get this cute little cottage warm and had to leave early. Enclosed garden for dogs to explore, the oRead morewners dogs are there too but made sure not to go out when theirs were out (I have a reactive dog). Close to pub but unfortunately didn't get to try. A lovely cottage tucked away in the South lakes. Small cottage which was a perfect quiet getaway for us, the kitchen was well equipped but if home is not your thing there are several good pubs serving meals within a few minutes of the property, good access to the southern lakes with both Kendal and Windermere around 15 minutes drive.
