Located just outside of a picturesque village, the property is served by a great local pub half a mile away and a number of restaurants in the surrounding area. 3.5 miles away, Richmond market town is home to many shops and historical buildings. Voted one of the top ten places to live in the UK, you can also visit Barnard Castle, a 12.5-mile drive. With its 12th century castle and abundance of cafes and boutiques, it's well worth a trip. For a more natural setting, you are spoilt for choice with hikes and trails to follow. 20 miles away, Arkengarthdale looks and sounds like something out of Lord of the Rings (minus the mythical creatures) and has lots of walks.
One of three lovingly and skilfully crafted shepherd's huts perched around a duck pond, this property is a welcome sight. Combining rustic charm with plenty of modern luxuries, it is an exciting experience for all generations. Taking a few steps up into the hut, you are met with a gorgeous space perfectly proportioned with everything you could need. With light, bright decor and uncluttered design, it manages to be both cosy and roomy. Warmed by electric radiators, there is also a wood burner to give you an extra boost, adding an atmospheric twist. For extra ambience in the evening, you can adjust the mood lighting to create just the right tone. If the weather takes a turn, the hut also has a TV and DVD player so you can keep yourselves entertained and connected with your friends and family. When your tum starts to rumble, the pleasant kitchen space includes a hob, fridge, microwave, kettle and sink, as well as plenty of utensils and eating ware. For meals at home, there is a small dining area alongside the wood burner with views out over the pond. At night, the tailormade bunk beds offer space for two adults below and one above. At the far end of the shepherd's hut is a walk-in shower room with WC.
As you would expect, much of the charm of this shepherd's hut comes with its connection to nature. Outside, a picnic bench affords glorious views over the duck pond and countryside and is the perfect spot for lunches in the sun and romantic evening meals. There is a log burning hot tub, available for hire priced at £50 each day, arranged directly with the owner.
