Situated close to the old pretty market town of Wirksworth, the property is a great choice for guests looking to spend a day meandering through the variety of local shops, cafes and restaurants of this historic Peak District town. For walkers, the nearby High Peak Trail provides an excellent starting point for a challenging hike through this spectacular part of the world. Nearby Carsington Water boasts a variety of scenic walks around the reservoir and beyond. Why not try a spot of kayaking, cycling, sailing or fishing. Matlock Bath has a huge selection of cafes and ice cream parlours and is also the starting point for the cable car that takes you to the Heights of Abraham.

Stepping into the hallway of the cottage is a space where you can hang your coats and take off your boots and wander through to the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. In the lounge area there is a comfy sofa to snuggle up on by the beautiful roaring wood burner and Smart TV, a great place to relax after a day hiking the hills. The kitchen offers everything you need to rustle up a satisfying meal such as an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Enjoy the results of your cooking at the nearby dining table. There is a ground floor shower room with shower and WC which will get you fit and ready for a day exploring the hills. There is a steep stone staircase that bends and leads up to the first floor with a huge high ceiling in the bedroom that is impressive and feels light and airy. There is a super-king-size bedroom which will provide a good night’s rest, with complimenting furniture and wardrobe space.

Outside to the front of the cottage is small patio area with a hot tub which is incredibly inviting throughout the year and the perfect place to relax and unwind. There is roadside parking, subject to availability.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Hot tub is huge for 2 people which is lovely and feels private. WiFi is fast and reliable. Relatively easy to find and parking was big enough for 1 car. Good location in a quiet village. The hot tub was lovely. The bathroom was good with a lovely large hot shower. The bedroom was big with a very comfortable bed. The stairs are concrete and steep but we knew that anyway so were prepared for that. The kitchen was fitted with the basics. However I couldn't call the cottage cosy as the small living rooRead morem area needs new furniture and maybe some subtle lighting. A supply of logs and instructions for the log fire would be handy. We had the perfect weekend break in this lovely cottage. The accommodation was perfect for the two of us, and the location was beautiful. The only criticism is the oven was too dirty to use and there is no front gate, the hot tub is on show to the main road.

The staircase is not suitable for people with limited mobility the hot tub lid very difficult to get on and off .the oven was dirty and the sofa uncomfortable. Everything else was fine

The cottage was lovely and cosy. The hot tub was great. The only real issue we had was parking.The Nelson's Arms was very welcoming even with our dogs. Would recommend the cottage.

Great location to visit all the delights of the Peaks. Very comfortable bed and great shower. However advertised as dog friendly. It is not. No outside space for dogs to do their business. Have to walk a little way for nearest grass area. Road can be very busy as well. Nil WiFi downstairs and Smart TV isnt.

We had a wonderful stay at Stowe cottage and we would highly recomend it if visiting the area. Complete with a hot tub, we found it peaceful and relaxing, the bed was comfy and we slept well for two nights. The local takeway (Habibs) were quick to delvier and food was tasty. We met with many friendly locals and enjoyed drinks at the two village pubRead mores. Well presented cottage in a great location for walks in the Derbyshire Dales. Great local pub for food. Lovely relaxing hot tub. Super king size bed very comfortable. The bedroom is spacious with a lovely chandelier. Would recommend as we really enjoyed our 5 night stay

We had a really nice stay . Hot tub was amazing and made the holiday. I didnt feel over looked despite it being at the front of the property. Don't expect use of the hot tub on the day of arrival as it was stone cold when I arrived.I paid for a full weekend and only managed to use it on two evenings. Having been in touch with the owner himself and holiday cottages I was basically told there's nothing they can do,I asked for a nights refund and have been refused any kind of goodwill gestuRead morere. Lovely clean cosy cottage. Bed super comfy. Rainfall shower was lovely & hot with under floor heating. Washing machine if needed.Was super snug with 3 pointer type dogs but they just crashed in front of the wood burner after a long walk. The cottage was very clean. We went in December and there were some extra nice touches for the season including a Christmas tree in the bedroom which was lovely. The cottage suited our two night stay. The garden is at the front of the property but the hot tub is screened off from the road. The cottage itself is cosy and charming but the location is awful. No parking, and situated on a busy road with cars speeding up and down; which can be heard from inside. Lovely cosy cottage, the hot tub made it for us especially after a day of walking. Great shower and comfortable bed. However the cottage sits directly on a main busy noisy road which wasnt clear when we booked. We didnt use the oven whilst there either as it was dirty and in need of a clean. A beautiful, cosy and welcoming cottage in an excellent location for exploring the Peak District. An incredibly comfortable and cosy bed, a well equipped kitchen and the hot tub was very welcome of an evening (although the cover was a bit tricky to get on and off.) We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Cottage is well located for walking. Hot tub is great after a days walking. Bedroom is roomy and bed really comfy. Shower room is very nice. For our stay we found that the oven was filthy and we were not happy to use it. Cottage windows were very draft.
