This beautiful property is centrally but quietly situated in the popular and attractive village of Braunton, with an array of surf shops, restaurants, pubs, and gift shops. Just outside the town is Braunton Burrows, England’s largest sand dune system and a designated AONB which provides a lovely backdrop for scenic seaside walks. The famous Tarka Trail is on the doorstep; ideal and level for walking and all-ability cycling, also access to local woodland for those mountain bike enthusiast and cycle hire available very close by. Just a short drive from the property are some of the region’s best beaches, including the enormous and breathtaking Saunton Sands, Woolacombe Beach, Croyde’s surfing Mecca and Putsborough. Walking enthusiasts will also be spoilt for choice with the nearby South West Coast Path and Exmoor National Park, not to mention a plethora of National Trust land. Within a fifteen minute drive is the busy Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe boasting a huge sculpture by the renowned artist Damien Hirst overlooking the quayside with shops, cafés and restaurants abound!

On arriving at the cottage you enter into the hallway with coat and boot storage and a utility cupboard housing the washing machine, adjacent to this is the bright and spacious shower room with walk-in shower, WC and large heated towel rail. On your left is the stylish king-size bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Heading upstairs you will find yourself in a delightfully light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The stunning kitchen area has everything you need to cook up a storm including electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a breakfast bar to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine! The bijou dining area has table & chairs for you to enjoy your evening meal whilst planning the next days adventures. After a busy day, relax on the comfortable large corner sofa and catch up with your favourite programmes on the Smart TV.

Outside you'll find a courtyard garden, with al-fresco dining furniture and a charcoal BBQ.

This property is really lovely. Extremely clean and everything you need is provided. The cottage was warm, and shower was always hot. The welcome hamper was very generous too! Easy to find and good parking space. Very good location to walk to a little park for a quick dog walk, a co-op and a lovely chip shop. Great to be so close to many beaches. We found The Old Stables to be a very nice holiday cottage, we were impressed with the quality of the finish of the decoration, and fixtures and fittings, it gave a very high end feel to the property. We had a lovely stay at The Old Stables. The cottage was cosy, warm, comfortable, very clean, well appointed and a good location. Terry the owner kindly provided some delicious treats for both us and our Pooch. The weather unfortunately wasnt great but managed to plan our days around it and having this cosy cottage was a huge plus.

We had a fab week here. Accommodation is very well laid out and well equipped. Local restaurants/pubs were all excellent and catered really well for vegetarians. The highlight for us was the very close proximity to the Tarka Trail (literally round the corner). This meant we were able to take the bikes with the trailer straight from the property. Great place to stay, good location and well equipped, on arrival we a had a lovely welcome pack, the old stables is spotless and has everything a couple (and dog) need to enjoy a nice relaxing holiday. We really had a great time stopping in Braunton, plenty of good walks with nice pubs to eat and drink in.

Regrettably, this one wasnt for us. We found the upside down configuration challenging, and the living space very small. Due to small windows, the interior was quite dark, and the furniture not very comfortable. The very large tv was very close to the viewing position, which could be uncomfortable. I would highly recommend this beautiful little cottage called The Old Stables Its been built with a lot of thought and has a high end finish. Its super clean, smells wonderful and has all home amenities one could ask for. 100% clean and comfortable, would definitely recommend it, it has its own private parking space which we at first couldnt make out on the advert, but was more than adequate. Close to town centre pubs and shops. We ate at the Williams arms a couple of times, which was walkable, not far at all. We stayed at The Old Stables first week in April. The property is very well laid out and a well equipped kitchen (we cooked every evening). It benefits from off road parking and its central location is perfect for pubs, shops and eateries (if you dont want to cook). We took our two dogs and walked 10 to 16 miles a day every day and made good use ofRead more the walking books left by the Hosts.
