Located at the foot of the Angus Glens surrounded by superb views in every direction, this holiday cottage has an abundance of country walks on its doorstep. From gentle, low level strolls to the more challenging Munros including Mount Keen (16 miles) and Dreish (35 miles), walkers will love the area. Alternatively, head to beaches like Lunan Bay (20 miles) or St Cyrus (16 miles) to take advantage of the stunning eastern Scottish coast. Plus, just 5 miles down the road is the Edzell Castle and Garden, ideal for a stroll around in the warmer months. Or for a spot of golf, tee off from the Edzell Golf Club, also just 5 miles away.
Inside, a bright and airy decor paired with a mix of traditional and contemporary features make this cottage a charming and welcoming holiday home. The owners have lovingly restored the property and during these works a marriage lintel inscribed with ‘JC and AG 1746' was found which now sits above the wood burner in the sitting area. The open-plan living space includes a comfy sofa and chair with the TV above the wood burner for cosy nights in or sunny afternoons looking out through the French doors to the beautiful Angus hills. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook up a storm and a breakfast bar to enjoy your meals at; there's also a folding dining table available if you fancy a more formal meal. Heading through to the bathroom, pretty tiles and lots of natural light make this a relaxing place to have a bath or a quick shower which stands over the bath. The bedroom, which can be made up into a twin room or a super king-size, is a tranquil place to retreat to after a long day. There's also a comfy chair to sink into with a book before you head to bed.
This cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway or can be booked alongside the neighbouring property to accommodate larger groups.
