Situated on the outskirts of the North Yorkshire village of Whitley there are fantastic transport links making this property easily accessible. The charming city of York is within driving distance, with its medieval history, gothic cathedral and York Minster. Head into Goole and pick up the River Ouse which meanders down to the Humber Estuary. Pick up nearby footpaths that wander through the surrounding villages and explore the area. Fishermen are well looked after here with outside storage for tackle and a separate bait fridge along with all nets and unhooking mats supplied for your personal use.

Step into the hallway and take off your coat and shoes and wander through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, boasting fantastic views over the lake, with French doors and multiple windows letting the light flood in. Relax after a long day and put your feet up of the comfy sofa with something good on TV/DVD. The kitchen is well stocked with an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave, perfect for preparing a romantic meal. Enjoy lazy breakfasts sat at the dining table with beautiful waterside views. Head through to the bedroom where you will be bound to get a good night’s rest in the luxurious Super-king size zip-and-link bed which can be separated to make two single beds if requested at the time of booking. The room is spacious and offers a TV/DVD and an en-suite shower room and a separate WC.

Outside, spend hours relaxing on the patio watching the nature go by or take advantage of the private fishing available. There is also a table and chairs which is perfect for dining alfresco. There is ample off-road parking. Owner provides all fishing nets and unhooking mats - guests will need to supply their own rods, reels, bait, bank sticks and terminal tackle

Cottage is very well presented. Fully equipped kitchen complete with washing machine. Very comfortable lounge and bedroom furniture. Large bathroom with Walk in shower. A second separate toilet. Very comfortable cottage, extremely well equipped. Beautiful lake with lots of different birds and good fishing. There are many interesting places to visit in the area. A good base at any time of the year. We would happily go back again.

This is a wonderful cottage, exceptionally clean and well equipped. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. Fishing was very successful and plenty to do within 15 minutes.

Cottage was a real home from home. Kitchen had everything you could wish for, bedroom was huge with loads of storage. Bathroom again was huge with lovely walk in shower. Living area was spacious with great view of the lake.

Dragonfly cottage is so lovely and comfortable with all that you could possibly want. The owners, who live on site, in the house next door, are very welcoming and friendly. The lake is lovely and the wildlife around it is plentiful. We had a lovely, restful holiday.

This was our fourth visit and looking to go back next year so I think this speaks for itself we love it. Plenty of fish caught including a few big carp one weighing 21lb 8oz! Can't wait to return as a nice and relaxing holiday.

Cottage was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Lovely view of the lake from the lounge and patio. John and Shirley met us on arrival and showed us around - they are very friendly and thoughtful hosts. Lovely quiet spot for fishing, a few steps away from the cottage. Good quality fishing. We hope to return.

Beautiful cottage. Spectacular views of the lake. Everything you need for a perfect holiday. As its situated on the A19 might get road noise when doors and windows open, however doesnt disturb your sleep.

A really lovely holiday bungalow located directly opposite a lake. We particularly enjoyed the superking bed, hot shower and well equipped kitchen. Great location to visit York attractions. The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in and the owners John and Shirley are so nice and are there if you need them. We enjoy everything about the cottage a real home from home and we also enjoyed the fishing and the wildlife around the lake.We enjoyed so much we have already booked it for another 2 weeks next year. Fantastic cottage, absolutely immaculate. A real home from home. Great location too. Spent a lovely day in York, about 35 minutes away. Did the park and ride which was really convenient. Spent another day at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Great day out for any age group.

Lovely cottage with a great patio view over the pond. Pond is a syndicate fishing pond and appears to be well stocked we had a number of nice tench. Plenty of pots /equipment in the kitchen Disappointing that the towels / bedding smelt of cigarette smoke.

Our stay here was very relaxing. Beautiful views out over the lake and the wildlife that stays and visited was good for the soul. The cottage is very well appointed with added touches such as cleaning products and even chocolate Easter bunnies and cake!
