Within touring distance are the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen, with their excellent leisure and shopping facilities. Making this an excellent base to explore the delights of the Angus Coastal Trail.

Step inside this charming single storey stone-built cottage with cosy underfloor heating throughout, and into the light and bright lounge - the perfect place to relax after a day out exploring the beautiful local area. Enjoy cosy nights in front of the roaring wood burner and watch a great movie on the Smart TV with DVD player. Entering the hall, which has high vaulted ceilings, you'll then find the stylish and bespoke well-equipped kitchen. It's the ideal place to cook up a storm and is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer.  There is also a comfortable dining area to enjoy romantic meals together. Next is the comfortable double bedroom with TV and ample storage space. Located next door is the stylish bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Completing the accommodation is the handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Venture outside to the fully enclosed rear garden with seating area, ideal for al fresco dining and lazy evenings star gazing. Guest are welcome to explore the castle's estate through a lovely woodland walk to the beautiful mature walled garden with seating areas, the perfect spot to enjoy picnics. There is also a tennis court that guests are welcome to use. Ample off-road parking is available at the side of the cottage.

We had a very pleasant break in Yew Cottage. It is comfortable and spacious for two people and a dog. The underfloor heating was perfect, we didn't need to use the log burner. Lovely walks locally, both in the castle grounds and in the quiet lanes.

A beautiful cottage in a quiet location with easy access to montrose town and lots of beaches. The kitchen was better equipped than my own! A wonderful stay and it was great getting to go around the castle grounds too. I would recommend this place and would love to return. Comfortable clean cottage. Peaceful enclosed rear garden, bonus for our dog. Friendly neighbour who made us welcome. Highlight of our stay was the Woodland Walk and Walled Garden.

Lovely setting close to the sea with all the amenities one would expect. The second TV was really useful as the Euros were on and one partner was not keen on sport. The rooms were light and the high ceilings gave a feeling of space.

Beautiful cottage, furnished to a high standard with every mod con you could ask for. Spotlessly clean and in a nice quiet location. Montrose town centre is only ten minutes away in the car, lovely beach at Montrose. Dunniald Castle only a five minute walk from the cottage, they have a beautiful walled garden to walk round or have a seat in the sunRead more, all you can hear is the birds. Could not be in a better location for access to lovely beaches north and south of Montrose. A lovely cottage with everything I needed - smart TV and a TV in the bedroom were much appreciated. I enjoyed all the wildlife close by. I only saw one red squirrel but they're definitely there. Lots of roe deer in the woods, plus hedgehog, woodpeckers .....Read more. I even saw dolphins from the beach at Lunan bay. The walled garden at the castle is lovely, it was nice having pleasant walks on doorstep. Hide

We had a lovely stay at Yew Cottage! It was so cozy and its just a short walk away from the lovely coast! The bed is so comfortable and the linen was so fresh and we enjoyed the luxury or a TV in the living room and the bedroom!! Our only comment would be that the shower temperature fluctuated from hot to warm / cold, which was a shame. But everythRead moreing else was perfect!! Hide

Fabulous cottage, much bigger inside than the photos suggest. Everything we needed with the bonus of having a secure garden for our dog to use. A perfect hopping off point to visit the surrounding areas. Lovely been able to walk in the castle grounds and walled garden.

A truly peaceful cottage in a wonderful location, well positioned for exploring Angus, Fife and beyond with several excellent coastal walks and beaches nearby. Yew Cottage is well equipped and well maintained by its friendly owners. This is our third visit and we have found different things to do in the area each time. Yew cottage was very comfortable and dog friendly, very modern on the interior with everything to hand in the kitchen. Well placed for local trips to Montrose & Arbroath and surrounding areas including Lunan Bay.

Great cottage with good quality furnishings. Kitchen is well equipped too. Fully enclosed rear garden. Lovely quiet location close to some beautiful beaches. Access to the walled garden is a wonderful treat.

The cottage was ideal and the location was excellent would recommend it, the walled garden and woodland walks were lovely we were even lucky with the weather. We had a train ride to Edinburgh and it was really good so many lovely views on the way.

A warm, welcoming cottage - spacious snd light. Such a comfortable place to stay and to come back to after a day's rambling. We enjoyed eating in (what a fabulous kitchen) and playing games in the evening. A truly relaxing few days.

Wonderful cottage, very peaceful location. Plenty of lovely walks nearby. Walking in the wood opposite the property is a must, red squirrels & roe deer seen. Property is well equipped, underfloor heating & log burner nice & cosy.

Wonderful Cosy cottage - brilliant for our dog particularly the woodland walk and gardens literally across the road. Location near beach and walks and yet town close enough to get a take away home. We would highly recommend the cottage at any time of the year and we will be returning very soon.
