Set along a small country lane 1,000 feet above sea level, the cottage has breathtaking views and makes a wonderful base for spotting buzzards and red kites. Climbers, walkers and mountain bikers will have plenty to explore. There are numerous walks from the cottage, with the summit of Sugar Loaf offering panoramic views over the Cotswolds, the Brecon Beacons and the Bristol Channel. The thriving town of Abergavenny (4 miles) has a fantastic range of great pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Other local attractions and landmarks include Tretower Castle (8.5 miles), the Big Pit museum (11 miles), Llanover Gardens (9 miles) and Llanthony Priory (9.5 miles). The popular market town of Crickhowell is also within easy reach (6 miles).

On entering this delightful cottage, you will find yourself in the light, fresh and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With comfortable seating, TV and a wood burner effect electric fire, the cosy lounge area is ideal for snuggling up at the end of a lovely day, catching up with a good book, watching a movie or chatting late into the night. The kitchen has a range of equipment including an electric oven, a microwave and fridge so you can prepare your favourite meals which you can enjoy in the charming dining area. Going upstairs, the light and relaxing bedroom features a pair of cosy twin beds (which can be converted into a super-king size bed). Please note the ceiling slopes quite low. There’s also a handy shower room complete with a shower and WC.

Stepping outside, you can sit back in the enclosed garden and enjoy the stunning views. There is a shared outdoor seating area within a landscaped area of flower beds and borders with far-reaching views where you can sit and watch the doves returning to the dovecote along with many other visiting bird varieties. There is also a shared heated indoor swimming pool with a resistance machine (opens early April - early November). For guests with horses, the farmyard features three stables within sight of the cottage, and there’s also plenty of space for grazing. You will also have access to a laundry room (shared with the adjoining cottage) complete with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. Ample parking is available.

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. The views from the cottage were breathtaking. The cottage it self had everything you needed. You had your own small garden and a secure field for the dog to run around. Very comfortable accommodation.

Very pleasant cottage featuring a picnic area up a steep path that affords wonderful views of the valley.It is particularly good for listening to birdsong The bed is enormous. The Llanfoist Heritage trail is excellent for dogs. The Blaenavon Ironworks are excellent full stop.

A lovely cottage in the south of Wales. Close to Abergavenny where you can get any supplies you want. The cottage is surrounded by the most amazing views. What a relaxing stay in a beautiful location with stunning views of Sugar Loaf mountain and the Brecon Beacons beyond. We were blessed with fantastic weather and particularly enjoyed evenings on the Italian themed terrace watching the sunset over the hills with a glass of wine. Nice cottage in a remote location. The views are stunning. Ideal for walkers and those who are seeking some peace and quiet. Access road is quite narrow.
