Audlem is a pretty village that offers a host of independent shops, eateries and a church to explore. Take time to visit the Overwater Marina with mooring for over 200 narrowboats, 4 miles by foot, or at weekends take the Audlem Lass canal cruise from Lock 15 to the marina. There’s a cafe here for refreshment and lunches. This is a walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise with many way marked footpaths and cycle routes for you to explore the surrounding Cheshire countryside. Take a trip to an abundance of National Trust houses in all directions, or head into the market towns of Chester and Shrewsbury, both less than 30 miles, providing charm and culture with even more to see and do.

Arrive at this cosy single-storey property and enjoy the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with large sliding doors overlooking a gravel garden. This is a social space to prepare a meal, enjoy dinner and relax on the sofa. In the lounge area, you can sink into the sofa, find your favourites on the TV and relax, or open the patio doors on a nice day to let the outside in and curl up with a good book. The kitchen area offers an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, washing machine and microwave and there is a dining table where you can enjoy some homecooked meals with plenty of space for everyone to gather around and plan your holiday activities. When ready for bed choose from the spacious double or single room. Take a leisurely shower or bath in the lovely bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside, sit down at the table and chairs on the gravel garden with views towards the enclosed garden with established trees, shrubs and a paddock. It is the perfect place unwind from sunrise to sunset. If you are bringing your bikes there is a bike rack to use by the kitchen door. There is ample off-road parking for two cars.

Very well-appointed accomodation. Excellent for dog owners, with an adjacent secure grassed paddock, and shingle area with outdoor table and chairs. Short walk to the nearby village (very peaceful if you choose the nearby bridal path), with a choice of eateries and pubs, and access to the canal network with its numerous locks. Our third holiday in Willow Wood Cottage and it wont be our last. The cottage was very clean and cosy. Lovely walks from the cottage to the canal nearby and plenty of pubs to eat in. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the cottage. It was spotless and fully equipped. It was so dog friendly, which made us feel relaxed. The use of the owners field to allow our GSD to play fetch off lead was a fantastic bonus. Many dog walks direct from the cottage. Easy walk into beautiful Audlem. Willow wood cottage is in an ideal location, walks in all directions, and an easy walk into the village. The cottage has all that you need for a stay with two dogs. A truly perfect place to stay. Audlem was a friendly village. To be able to walk from the property to the village and then the relaxing canal walks was perfect. The property is a real home from home and somewhere to relax and your dogs to be safe.

We have stayed here a few times now. I love it. Its peaceful, great location and great for my reactive dog. Rachel is very friendly and accommodates us any way she can. The cottage is always clean, light and airy. I love my little get-aways here.

The cottage is lovely and comfortable and clean. It was private and was lovely to be able to let my dog out knowing he was safe as long as the larger gate was closed. The small paddock was great. Superb cottage with everything we needed. Very clean and ideal for a break away! The patio and paddock are totally enclosed which the dogs loved and the usage of the meadow was a bonus too! Lots of nice walks around the cottage and into Audlem and the canal. Rachel was very friendly and readily available. Would recommend!

Lovely accommodation that gave us the security to relax and allow our Vizsla freedom to roam out of the cottage to the patio area and into the paddock. Great walk either along the road or taking the short cut to the shops. We enjoyed the walk along the canal. Really comfortable beds so great sleep. Lovely clean cottage in a great location, with everything you need. The paddock was fully enclosed, enabling our reactive Cocker Spaniel to run freely without any restrictions. A Really peaceful countryside location. Modern comfortable accomodation. The kitchen area is well designed and equipped with a good range of cooking utensils and crockery. Everything I needed was there. The fully enclosed little paddock was great for the dog but was smaller than I had imagined from the photos. If you want peace and quiet Willowwood cottage is the place to be. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. This was our second visit and it wont be our last. It is very near to visit lots of gardens and has some lovely walking along the canal with plenty of pubs on the way to have lunch or a drink. Absolutely lovely cottage with beautiful views. Really well appointed with everything that you could need. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a pint of milk ready on arrival. Also a little dog treat bag in with a ball and poo bags. Bed was really comfortable and a huge dog blanket provided for if you want your dog on the settee. We enjoyed a wonderful week at Willow Wood cottage near to the very pretty & friendly village of Audlem. We walked via the bridle path in the March sunshine & via the road in soft, fluttering snowflakes on our last day to the canal for more walkies with our beagle, Stanley.
