Brimming with places to eat, drink and stay entertained on rainy days, this inviting abode sits on a quiet street in the heart of Keswick. Enjoy a leisurely cruise across Derwentwater or hire your own boats and spend the day paddling in search of the best picnic spot. Stay dry and walk up to Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles) or venture to Catbells, a 5-mile drive away or you could hop off the boat and climb to the top of the fell for panoramic views. Treat yourselves to a romantic meal out before watching a show at Theatre by the Lake which is a mile from your door.

Head inside the shared entrance and make your way up to the second floor. Stepping inside the apartment, find yourself in the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner and get comfortable. Light floods inside through the large windows and the ornamental fireplace adds character and charm. Find a spot on the sofa and relax in front of the Smart TV before heading to the kitchen area to rustle up a feast. There is a fan oven/microwave, an induction hob, a fridge with ice box and a handy dishwasher. Sleek and stylish, the kitchen area has a useful island which adds more space to prepare ingredients. Plate up at the table which sits next to one of the windows. Should you need to wash clothes throughout your trip, there is a washer/dryer on the mezzanine-style floor downstairs. This is shared with three of the other apartments in the building. Head to bed and get cosy in the king-sized bedroom with fell views. A charming space, this room has an en-suite shower room with WC.

A parking permit is provided for the church car park across the road.

The property is in a great location and makes an excellent base for a walking break. We were unable to park when we first arrived, due to a dance class taking place in the church, but the arrangements were ok for the rest of our stay. Wagtail is well-equipped, but the dining chairs could do with a bit of wood glue on the arms, and a second sofa or Read moremore comfortable armchair would have been welcome. Would definitely re-book. Hide

Wagtail in Easdale House, Keswick is a lovely comfortable apartment in an ideal, central location for shops and restaurants with access to plenty of walks from the door or within easy driving distance.

The plusses for the apartment we stayed at 'Easdale House' was it'scentral location. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and the decor was OK. The negative were that the furnishings were tired and well used.

This top apartment was immaculately clean and tidy with a generous supply of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and some nice biscuits to welcome us. Very comfortable and spacious The shower is hot and powerful, just right after day walking. It's well located for the centre of town and the open space of Fitz Park is nearby as well Well supplied with pots panRead mores, crockery etc. A huge plus is the car park just across the road We really enjoyed our stay Hide

Lovely apartment for a short break. Probably a bit small for a whole week. Wifi wasnt working when we arrived but a call to Sallys Cottages soon rectified this. The location is perfect, very short walk to shops, pubs and restaurants. Overall a lovely little apartment.

A pleasant little flat for two in a very convenient location. The addition of a parking permit is fantastic in Keswick. Great communication and information from Sallys cottages.

Great apartment for a couple. Central ( three minutes walk ) for Keswick high street and restaurants. Parking near apartment really helpful. Only negative is the late entry 4 pm and the non refundable 20 insurance to cover breakages ( of which there were none!)

Sallie's Cottages staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating, including walking me through the payment process over the phone. Wagtail is in a great location (Keswick is charming). The space is a little tight for two (especially for a full week with luggage etc.). Very clean. Bring your own shampoo. Americans using the laundry will find it doesnRead more't dry the way an American dryer would; plan to hang your drying laundry to get fully dry. Parking is a plus! Hide

Lovely apartment, quiet location, well presented and equipped and very clean. Parking permit much appreciated as Keswick was very busy while we there and parking spaces were at a premium. Would definitely consider booking again.
