Stylish apartment set within a recently renovated Georgian villa, offering a stunning, boutique couple’s retreat situated on the coast with stunning views over the sea and Lakeland hills.

Voted by The Times in 2020 as ‘One of the best places to live by the sea’, Arnside is located at the southern tip of Cumbria and the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set within 2.5 acres of private grounds leading to the seafront, the apartment is within a Grade II-listed Georgian ‘Gentleman’s Residence’ built-in 1818; Ashmeadow House was fully restored and developed into luxury flats in 2021. There is direct access to the beaches and it’s only a few minutes’ walk into the village with its seafront parade of independent shops, cafes, art galleries, two pubs, village stores, a chemist, bakery, Victorian pier, and Arnside’s famous fish and chip shop. Enjoy walks directly from the house and grounds including Arnside Knott and Jenny Brown’s Point which have recently featured in BBC programmes. Within easy driving distance are the Southern Lakes villages of Grange-over-Sands and Cartmel (15 miles), as well as the main Lake District National Park (8 miles) and Yorkshire Dales (20 miles).

Located on the first floor, this apartment has the feel of a boutique hotel suite and is filled with top-of-the-range furniture and fittings, mixed with antiques and the owner’s personal art collection. The open-plan kitchen/living room has two large original Georgian windows and shutters, each with breathtaking views over the bay, perfect for watching the famous sunsets and occasional northern lights. A state-of-the-art, shaker-style kitchen with white quartz worktops includes a double oven, induction hob, instant boiling water tap, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A spacious lounge area includes a four-seater velvet sofa, while antique kilim rugs and cushions add to the boutique hotel look, and a 43” Smart TV allows you to catch up with your favourite shows in comfort. The dining area has seating for two and is designed to make the most of the views over the bay. Should you need to work from your holiday home, there is an Edwardian desk & 5G Wi-Fi throughout the flat. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with sea views, a built-in wardrobe, and a 40” Smart TV. Modern touches include wall-mounted reading lights and USB charge points in the wall sockets. To complete the accommodation, there is a shower room with a shower and WC with the comfort of underfloor heating.

The flat has an allocated parking space plus a private guest car park; an electric car charge point is due to be installed by summer 2022. Included in the private grounds is a bike shed with allocated rack space for guests to bring two bikes, and shared garden seating overlooking the sea.

What a location. So beautiful, sadly we only got grey days but I imagine it would be stunning on nice days. You can see the bay from each window and we found the place very quiet. We didnt even realise there were others in the building until we bumped into a couple. The grounds are lovely - make sure you take a walk around the forest behind it and Read morethe walled garden. It has a fascinating history. Its very close to a small number of shops, and the convenience shop is well stocked and priced. Hide

Wow, this property certainly lived up to its name, what a stunning location. It was very clean, comfortable , well equipped and had everything we needed. Some lovely local walks and lots of places to visit within driving distance. We had an amazing week, one of the best holidays that we've had in the UK, hopefully we will be back at some point.

A spacious, comfortable and well-equipped apartment in an idyllic location with stunning views. There are pubs and a great fish and chips shop nearby, but we were happy to visit Booth's, a short drive away, and cook for ourselves so we could enjoy the view across the bay from the dining area - sunsets were amazing! Nice well equipped flat in a beautifully converted property. Fairly compact and not a lot of space to put your stuff. We had problems getting live channels on the living room TV,the holiday company and the owner got an engineer out to fix it but it was still a bit of a hassle to get the live channels.
