Ashford-in-the-Water is a popular Derbyshire village, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Walk to the country pub, village shop and tearooms or soak up the restful surroundings and take a picnic along the banks of the River Wye by the Sheepwash Bridge. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within 6 miles; alternatively, you could meander through the shops and cafes of Bakewell (3 miles), home to a weekly market and the renowned Bakewell Pudding. The spa town of Buxton is 14 miles away and offers a lively arts scene including an opera house, while the Monsal Dale (2 miles) is a beautiful destination where you can enjoy the outstanding scenery on foot.
Enter the cottage by taking a few external steps down and step into the hallway. The kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave with pretty views over the village from the kitchen window. The lounge/diner offers two comfy sofas where you can sit and relax after a day exploring the area; pop on the TV to unwind and enjoy space for long breakfasts at the nearby dining table and enjoy the lovely views. The bedroom offers a double bed and a handy sofa bed which would be suitable for a child. The bathroom offers a shower over the bath and a WC.
Outside, the enclosed patio wraps around the cottage and provides delightful, elevated views over the village. There is a bistro set providing a lovely spot to sit and relax or enjoy dining alfresco. The patio overlooks a grassy bank which can also be used by guests.
