Visit the bustling market towns of Castle Douglas (Scotland’s Food Town), (7.5 miles), Dalbeattie (7 miles) and Kirkcudbright (known as the Artists Town) 11 miles. Explore the Solway Firth boasting 200 miles of beautiful coastline, Galloway Forest and Dark Skies Park or enjoy amazing mountain biking tracks including the world class 7 Stanes. Wildlife and bird enthusiasts can enjoy a trip to the RSPB Ken Dee Marshes and explore the red kite trail. Galloway Activity Centre located on the banks of Loch Ken offers a great choice of water sports and activities, all within 15 miles.

Step inside this luxurious, single storey, stylish lodge into the hall vestibule - perfect place to store your outdoor clothing, through to the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge has lovely, comfy, sumptuous sofas, Smart TV, a Bluetooth speaker and an electric wood burner effect fire, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Looking through the floor-to-ceiling windows with French doors leading out to the garden, and enjoying magnificent loch views over beautiful Bengairn Loch. The bespoke stylish kitchen has all you need to cook up a storm. The dining area with comfortable seating is perfect for romantic or family gatherings whilst enjoying the spectacular loch and countryside views. There is a delightful super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request) bedroom with French doors leading out to the patio, with beautiful loch and countryside views, Smart TV and a stylish en-suite shower room with WC. Finally completing the accommodation is the beautiful king-size bedroom, also with French doors leading out to the patio, Smart TV, wonderful loch and countryside views and stylish en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Heading outside onto the large patio area you will find the fantastic private hot tub with magnificent loch views over Bengairn Loch. There is also a seating area with comfortable table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining. Relax in front of the roaring chiminea and enjoy an evening stargazing. There is ample private off-road parking next to the lodge with an electric car charging point.

  • Please note that the minimum stay is 3 nights, and that short breaks are only accepted 1st November to 15th March

This is one of the best self-catering lodges we have visited. The lodge is sited at the edge of a loch and is so peaceful. The standard of soft furnishings and decoration is second to none and then add in a hot tub!! What a beautiful place, the location was out of the world and the lodge itself was exceptional. This hidden gem was the best find for our honeymoon! After eloping at Gretna Green we didn't get to see Scotland so the idea of our honeymoon there was amazing, though we did have our girls with us so familymoon! We enjoyed our time here endlessly. A perfect place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of our time. Very nice house and great hosts. The absolute highlight is the whirlpool on the terrace. Willow Lodge was immaculate, comfortable, well equipped and a pleasure to stay in. We shall definitely stay there again and can happily recommend it as an amazing experience. We had a wonderful week at Willow Lodge - a really special place. The lodge is beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. The location is stunning, so quiet and peaceful and right in the middle of beautiful scenery and wildlife. The most incredible cottage, in a stunning setting, with the most amazing hosts. The pictures simply do not do this cottage justice. It was spotless, it had everything we needed and much more, and the views were breathtaking, it was a truly unforgettable week. We cannot wait to go back.

Spotless, lovely cabin, glorious location. Warm, well equipped, and comfortable. Lovely, attentive, but non intrusive owners. Hot tub checked daily, ideal for us as heavy users . Brilliant views, lovely quiet spot with plenty to watch on the loch with huge picture windows.

A beautiful lodge on the banks of the loch, a stunning location and the aspect is sublime with the sunset over the hills. Many brown trout were fished on the loch and there are many walks with much nature on the doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will certainly visit again. Willow Cottage was fantastic. The personal touches really made it feel like warm and welcome. A great touch was the fresh farm milk, farm eggs, youghurts and home made granola. Had a fantastic time in Willow lodge the views were outstanding, the wildlife was amazing to watch as was the live farming that we watched daily. The owners were very attentive, and welcoming.
