This Grade II-listed conversion is peacefully set in the grounds of a 16th-century manor house on the edge of Exmoor and the popular seaside town of Minehead. The beautiful medieval Exmoor village of Dunster is just half a mile away with its castle, shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. From Dunster, enjoy an adventure amidst the awe-inspiring landscape of Exmoor National Park. Or travel along the coast and visit Watchet (8 miles) with its marina, or the coastal villages of Blue Anchor (4 miles) and Porlock (7 miles).

Enter this single-storey property via one step, and make yourselves at home in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its oak panelled wall and exposed beams. There is a comfortable seating area, which is made for relaxing in, with a Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen has all the facilities you will need to whip up everything, from light breakfasts to hearty dinners. When night falls, there are two bedrooms at opposite ends of the property – a master double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Completing the accommodation is a family bathroom.

Head outside into the cobbled courtyard which leads to the beautiful, shared 2-acre sub-tropical garden, filled with mature palm trees and exotic plants. Find a quiet corner with seating, explore the ‘secret garden’, or have fun on the giant outdoor chess set while the kids play on the swing. The gardens also boast views over the West Somerset Steam Railway and across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. Enjoy the communal fire pit with giant marshmallows for toasting. Come and feed the goats and sheep in the 2 acre paddock and say hello to the miniature Shetland pony.

Dog walks abound straight from the cottage door and with a dog wash area and towels provided, you know your 4 legged friend will have a fabulous time too.

Completing the outside is a heated outdoor swimming pool set in its own walled area, with poolside furniture.

We had a wonderful week in August staying in Stables cottage. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming, and even suggested a couple of places that were well worth a visit. The pool was our sons favourite part of the holiday and was great to relax around after trips into the surrounding area. We also thoroughly enjoyed feeding the goats an ShetlRead moreand pony. Hide

'The Stables' is a cottage beautifully converted. The situation in the grounds of Ellicombe Manor is ideal in itself and for visiting this part of Somerset. The owners are caring and welcoming.
