Located on a working farm, this unique cabin for two is the perfect escape for couples looking for a dog-friendly holiday in the beautiful rolling hills of the Southern Uplands. Once you leave the farm, there are lots of forest walks to explore nearby or you can head to the historic towns of Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders. Alternatively, why not try one of the many other local activities including cycling, horse riding, and trout fishing at the nearby trout fishery located at Tinto Hill? Keen walkers can also climb to the top and admire the stunning views across the Clyde Valley and beyond. The town of Biggar is only 5.5 miles away for amenities, or if you fancy a trip to the city, Edinburgh is only 30 miles away and offers plenty of entertainment.
This single-storey cabin has an open-plan lounge/kitchen at its centre and is where you will spend most of your time planning adventures or relaxing after long hikes. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to rustle up a hearty breakfast or a tasty dinner, and a dining table for two. After dinner, head back towards the comfortable sofa and watch a movie on the Smart TV or relax with a book whilst simultaneously taking in the views overlooking the open fields. A door leads from this area to a light and spacious king-size bedroom which then leads to a wet room with a large shower area and WC. This property has been designed with dogs in mind and even has special cushioned, non-slip floors installed.
Heading outside, you will get the chance to walk around and meet the resident alpacas, goats, sheep, and the owners’ seven dogs. They regularly hold dog events and run a training school on site. An enclosed area outside has artificial turf and seating, and is where you will find the private hot tub overlooking the open fields and woodlands. There is a shared grassed area surrounding the farm’s six cabins which all overlook a large, unfenced pond that you are welcome to enjoy as well as an indoor BBQ hut that is available to hire directly with the owners. Perfect for your four-legged friends is the off-lead exercise field. A perfect space to explore and run freely.
