Nestled in the picturesque village of Montacute, this exquisite character cottage is surrounded by the warm, golden hues of Hamstone architecture. The village boasts a delightful large square which offers convenient amenities within a mere 400-metre radius, including two pubs, a post office, a tearoom, and a petrol station with essential supplies. There is a variety of amazing walks straight from the doorstep. The village is home to Montacute House a popular National Trust property with parkland, other National Trust properties include Lytes Cary (8.5 miles) and Barrington Court (9.5 miles). Within a 25-mile radius, you'll find the famous World Heritage Jurassic coastline, offering exciting adventures like fossil hunting at Charmouth Beach or a visit to the iconic seaside town of Lyme Regis. Additionally, you could explore the vibrant towns of Yeovil (5 miles), Crewkerne (9 miles), Sherborne (10 miles), Ilminster (10.5 miles) and Bruton (20 miles).

 This fabulous cottage is a charming place for a peaceful break away. Step inside this striking property and you will immediately find yourself in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a stable door opening into an enclosed courtyard garden. Settle in for a snug evening in the lounge with a film on the Smart TV in front of the warming wood burner. The bright kitchen with spotlights in the ceiling looks out at the courtyard garden. Head upstairs to the beautiful king-size bedroom and sleep tight after exploring the wonderful countryside. This spacious bedroom boasts a striking copper free-standing bath. Completing the accommodation is an immaculate en-suite shower room with a large rainfall shower.

The enclosed courtyard garden is a delightful outside space to relax in and has a table and chairs, so you can enjoy your morning coffee or some al fresco dining

  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £150 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £20. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

A perfect, cosy cottage in a beautiful village with plenty of lovely walks without taking the car. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and is fully equipped with everything you need. We loved it so much on our first visit we went back again.

A beautifully furnished and well equipped cottage with wonderful walks from the door. Two pubs within walking distance for evening meals and the entrance to Montacute House just over the road. Other NT properties within easy reach.

The absolute perfect cosy cottage getaway in delightful village. Immaculately presented interior with everything you need for your stay. Ideal location for getting out and about in Somerset. Lovely enclosed courtyard to rear. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this cottage. Spotlessly clean. Everything we needed. Village has 2 pubs. We had a couple of fantastic meals at the Kings arms. Great location for us to catch up with friends and family. We loved it so much, we booked for a week next year.

A tastefully renovated cottage with everything you need including an elegant roll top bath! The village of Montacute is beautiful with a welcoming dog friendly pub across the road. Plenty of walks from the village without having to drive. Would thoroughly recommend, we hope to return.

Fabulous cottage everything you need for a luxury stay, super comfortable clean bed and luxury bathroom and kitchen plenty to do in and around Montacute Great pubs within walking distance , plenty of info and ideas by the owners. Enjoyed the week so much we would definitely return and best of all our dog came too.

One of the best holiday properties we have stayed in over the best part of 45 years holidaying in the UK. Well equipped with quality items throughout the cottage made it feel like home and it was a pleasure to return to after exploring the area.

This is a lovely cottage in the borough area of Montacute Village. Interior is fitted to a fabulous standard and the welcome package was just right. Nearest shop is a Co-op in the next village and right now St Michaels hill is ablaze with wild garlic blooms. Only wished it was a little bit quieter from the sounds of passing traffic, however, that iRead mores something we should have looked at before booking. Hide
