If you enjoy peaceful walks, cycling, or simply taking in the natural beauty, you will find plenty of opportunities in and around the area. Walking trails from the village will take you on to the Ridgeway, a national trail that takes in stunning scenery and views. Visit one of the best-known prehistoric sites in Britain at nearby Avebury (17 miles), a Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles. The cottage is also a fantastic base for exploring the nearby Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with Cirencester, ‘The Capital of the Cotswolds’, based 21 miles away. Explore the charming shops and pubs or one of the museums that will give you an insight into the history of the area.

After a busy day exploring, head back into your warm and inviting cottage. As you enter, kick off your walking boots and hang up your jackets in the entrance hall. This area leads you into the useful utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and also the bright and spacious kitchen/diner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for a self-catered break, and there is a dining table that will comfortably seat four people. Step into the inviting lounge with a stunning bay window which brings in south-facing light and warmth. Relax on the comfortable sofas in front of the lovely wood burner or pop a movie on the Smart TV. There is also a writing desk which is a great space for a workstation for anyone needing to work from home, utilising the super-fast Wi-Fi offered here. Moving upstairs, you will find two large bedrooms with south-facing windows and views. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and the second has a single. Next door, you will find the family bathroom. The lounge does have a sofa bed for use by an additional guest if requested upon booking.

Patio doors from the kitchen lead you out to the enclosed garden area. The south-facing patio has a bistro table and chairs where you can dine alfresco with stunning views across the Ridgeway. The steps from the patio lead down to the lower garden where you will find a decked area with seating, providing a lovely little suntrap to enjoy. Lovely house in a beautiful village near Swindon. Well furnished with comfortable beds, etc Fabulous sized kitchen with equipment to make meals easily. The village has several nice walks, a pub serving meals and a shop. If walking at night a torch is a must. Would certainly recommend and will return again.

You can't got wrong - lovely place to stay: very well kitted out, secure garden for dogs, friendly and pretty village. Had a great few days away for New Year in Brigadoon. Lovely cottage. Well equipped and in a great position by The Ridgeway. We enjoyed wonderful walks from the cottage with our dog and then relaxing by the fire in the evening. We also enjoyed a trip to Cirencester which was just 20 minutes away and dinner in the local pub in Bishopstone.

We had a lovely winter stay at the cottage. The weather was cold but we were cozy with the electric heaters provided and the generous amount of wood for our three days that kept the wood burner going. Bed was really comfy and the closeness of a fabulous walk on the Ridgeway was amazing.

Brigadoon is just perfect. It is a beautiful place to retreat to. Located in a lovely village with walks from the door. The bathroom and layout of the cottage upstairs make it unsuitable for people with mobility issues. It was very clean and we found it comfortable
