Visit the ruins of Jervaulx Abbey (9 miles), a hidden gem steeped in medieval history and nestled amidst scenic countryside. Adventure enthusiasts can embark on exhilarating hikes through the Nidderdale National Landscape, or explore the dramatic limestone formations at Malham Cove and Gordale Scar (30 miles). For a taste of local culture, visit the bustling market town of Masham (3.5 miles), famous for its traditional breweries and vibrant market square. Alternatively, indulge in a leisurely afternoon in the spa town of Harrogate (16 miles) and explore the RHS Garden Harlow Carr.

As you step through the door of this charming cottage, you're greeted by a warm and inviting open-plan living space, brimming with character and cosiness. The exposed beams overhead add to the cottage's charm, while bespoke furnishings create an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication. The lounge area beckons with its romantic ambience, featuring comfortable sofas where you can sink into relaxation as the wood burner casts a gentle glow. A dining table set for two invites intimate meals, and at the rear of the living space lies a fully equipped kitchen, boasting everything you need to prepare delicious meals together. Ascending the staircase, you'll discover a beautiful king-size bedroom. The sumptuous mattress promises restful nights, while soft linens invite you to sink into luxury. Completing the dreamy retreat is a luxurious en-suite bathroom where you can unwind in the deep bath or rejuvenate under the separate shower.

At the front of the cottage, the enclosed garden offers a peaceful retreat, with bench seating providing the perfect spot to soak in the village atmosphere ( please beaware that the next door cottage has right of access to their property)  At the rear, a private patio area awaits, furnished with a table and chairs perfect for an alfresco evening drink and summer BBQ, (please note that beyond the patio area there is a joint right of way access with the adjoining neighbours).

A fabulous cottage in a beautiful area. Lovely welcome basket for both us and the doggies - which they loved! Our first trip to North Yorkshire but definitely not our last. Just need to wait for the village pub to open again after the refurb! Thank you so much for a marvellous experience.

Grewelthorpe is a very pretty Dales village and Duck Cottage is perfectly located to explore the area. Its a beautifully renovated cottage and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and homely. The notes left are personal and explain what to do rather than what not to do. An example of this is If you want a sofa cuddle Read morewith your dog please use a provided blanket. The cottage is very dog friendly. We will definitely be back. Hide

We loved the cottage and the location and so did our dogs . Beautiful little village on door step of fantastic country walks and next to real lovely town Masham with not one but two Brewerys.

Loved our stay at this pretty cottage. Tastefully renovated, bathroom is lovely with a large bath and walk in shower. The bed is very comfortable and the soft furnishings & towels are really nice quality. The owners have thought of everything, the welcome basket was a nice surprise. Lovely village location with nice walks from the doorstep, great bRead morease to explore the Dales. Very good place to unwind and recharge the batteries. Hide

Cottage was spotless. Guests and doggie welcome pack a nice gesture. The location is perfect for exploring locally. Walks from village and local beauty spots, good for fitness and active dogs. Quiet location. Local pubs ten minutes drive away. Visit Jervaulx abbey, Fountains Abbey, black sheep brewery tours, Leyburn or Ripon for market town shops.
