The beautiful cottage is located in Ludham, which is a picturesque village of thatched cottages, quaint tearooms, and intriguing independent shops. Wander out of your front door and onto the edge of Womack Water. Enjoy a picnic by the water’s edge or stride out along one of the many footpaths that branch away from the area. The route between St Benet’s and How Hill is particularly interesting, following the ancient path of the monks of St Benet’s Abbey. Heading east, you’ll soon reach Sea Palling (8 miles), with its wide, sandy bays and perfect bathing conditions. Alternatively, journey into the vibrant medieval city of Norwich (21 miles), to check out the lively outdoor markets and fabulous craft shops.
The elegant cottage has a contemporary style, with crisp, neutral paintwork and chic furniture. The ground-floor area is open plan and is light and bright, thanks to the patio doors leading to the garden. Enjoy a romantic meal for two at the wooden dining table, before getting cosy on the plush sofa to watch a film on the TV/DVD. There’s also a sumptuous armchair to curl up in with a good book. Completing the ground floor is the cute kitchen, with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and washing machine/dryer. A statement, open-tread staircase invites you to head upstairs, where you’ll find a gorgeous double bedroom. The room has a rural view and also houses bunk beds for small children in its entrance hall, which can be booked on request if needed. A chic bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC completes the first floor.
Outside, there’s a small, enclosed courtyard. This sunny spot is a great place to unwind at the end of the day, sipping a glass of wine at the table and looking out over the staithe and open countryside. There’s also a shared lawn, where you can enjoy a picnic on a lazy afternoon. Off-road parking is available for one car.
