Mermaid Cottage is in a perfect location for walking and visiting Northumberland, in a peaceful setting the views and light from the cottage were amazing. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped for two people for our 1 week stay. We enjoyed the milk / tea and biscuits on arrival. Very comfortable and peaceful cottage with only a 10 minute walk to the beach where you can pick up the costal path for various walks. Lovely views from the lounge window. Well equipped kitchen and a lovely gesture with some milk, tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

Fabulous beach location. The cottage is very popular, thus the interior is tired and in need of some updating.

Excellent little cottage to stay in for the week. Location is great with the beach 500 yards down the road, perfect for walking the coastal path in both directions. Convenient for visiting Bamburgh, Alnwick, Cragside, Holy Island and more.

A lovely cottage just a short walk from the beach. Just what we wanted! Sea views (with dolphins!) from the living room and bedroom. Well-equipped for such a small place. Private off-road parking. Perfect!

Nicely situated a few hundred metres from a delightful beach with lovely walks both north and south. We'll within reach of Lindisfarne, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick. Bird watching and wild flowers all around in spring and summer.

We had to wash the cutlery, plates and pyrex bowls before we could use them (the wooden spatulas which we didn't use probably still have food from previous guests on them). The heating is not controlled by guests but by the owners. The bathroom (particularly the sink) is ridiculously small. There is nowhere to hang clothes in the bedroom, you have Read moreto use an Ikea canvass wardrobe upstairs. Nowhere to put cases. Uncomfortable furniture. Tricky parking even for our Toyota Yaris. Lovely location if you are looking for a quite spot. Accommodation was compact, but had all the essential equipment. Not suitable for those with mobility issues.
