The beautiful cottage is set in the stunning grounds of the owner’s home, surrounded by mature trees and lawns. The immediate area is a haven for walkers and cyclists, and slightly further afield you can join The Broads’ network of waterways. Head to nearby Acle Bridge (5 miles), where you can hire a boat and spend the day weaving your way through the picturesque countryside. There are also some delightful walks around Acle Bridge, including the long-distance Weavers’ Way. Heading to the coast, you’ll soon reach Sea Palling (17 miles), with its sandy bays and calm waters. A short walk from here brings you to Horsey Gap where, in winter, you can watch hundreds of grey seals and their pups.
Enter the converted barn into the bright and colourful lounge/kitchen/diner, where exposed beams add character and vibrant soft furnishings bring personality and style. Perch at the breakfast bar – glass of wine in hand – to chat whilst the dinner is being prepared, before enjoying a meal for two at the cute, folding table and chairs. The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a tasty meal using ingredients from your travels, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge. After dinner, get cosy on the plump rattan sofa to watch the TV/DVD or plan the holiday itinerary. Completing the ground floor is a sleek shower room with WC. A wooden staircase leads you to the first-floor mezzanine, where you’ll find an inviting double bedroom. This room is full of character, with sloping ceilings and exposed beams (just watch out for the restricted head height).
A leafy, enclosed garden awaits outside, with a bistro set for al fresco dining in the summer sun. Private carp fishing is available nearby, and two adult bikes are available for you to explore the quiet lanes surrounding North Burlingham. Off-road parking is available for one car.
