Wander on the three local commons in this Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or head to the coast, just 5 miles away, to explore the dramatic coastline on the Suffolk Coast Path or visit one of the ever-popular seaside towns and villages nearby. Take a trip to Southwold, 6 miles away, where there are plenty of shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, fish and chip shops, and ice cream places to enjoy. Wander 1 mile along Southwold beach to the lighthouse or visit the Denes beach (1 mile in the opposite direction), a wild sand and shingle beach that’s great for all sorts of water sports and wild swimming. Catch the ferry to Walberswick from Southwold harbour (7.5 miles away from the house) to do some crabbing or celeb spotting or get away from the crowds with a trip to Minsmere, an RSPB reserve 8 miles away and home to some of the UK’s rarest wildlife or explore the wonderful outdoor Theatre and restaurant Husk with its supper clubs are less than two miles away in nearby Thorington
