A lovely, bright cottage in the sleepy village of Wenhaston, this cosy bolthole is perfect for a romantic break surrounded by beautiful countryside, close to the stunning Suffolk coastline with access to lots of scenic walks and fun activities. Wander on the three local commons in this Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or head to the coast, just 5 miles away, to explore the dramatic coastline on the Suffolk Coast Path or visit one of the ever-popular seaside towns and villages nearby. Take a trip to Southwold, 6 miles away, where there are plenty of shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, fish and chip shops, and ice cream places to enjoy. Wander 1 mile along Southwold beach to the lighthouse or visit the Denes beach (1 mile in the opposite direction), a wild sand and shingle beach that’s great for all sorts of water sports and wild swimming. Catch the ferry to Walberswick from Southwold harbour (7.5 miles away from the house) to do some crabbing or celeb spotting or get away from the crowds with a trip to Minsmere, an RSPB reserve 8 miles away and home to some of the UK’s rarest wildlife or explore the wonderful outdoor Theatre and restaurant Husk with its supper clubs are less than two miles away in nearby Thorington

The property has been completely transformed into a welcoming retreat with a fully fitted kitchen with views over the garden, a large dining area where you can enjoy home-cooked delights, and a lovely, cosy sitting room perfect for spending relaxed evenings in, with comfy sofas and a large TV, there’s also a downstairs cloakroom with a WC. Upstairs is the gorgeous, spacious king-size bedroom, and a bright, modern bathroom.

The cottage has a good-sized back garden, which is mainly lawn with a small patio with a bistro table and chairs, where you can enjoy drinks and meals in the sunshine while the dog runs around.

Thank you for the goodies left for us ,it is really nice to be able to come in and be able to have a hot drink and something to eat when you 1st arrive , much appreciated. Cottage was lovely and a nice location for visiting local places like Dunwich , Walberswick etc . The large garden will be good in the warmer lighter days in the year . The cottage is finished to a very high standard and has everything you need. The garden was perfect for our dog and a nice patio to sit on. This is our second visit.

A fabulously clean, comfortable and well appointed cottage. The bed is extremely comfortable and a good power shower. All the sheets, towels and soaps are excellent quality. Definitely the cleanest dog friendly cottage weve stayed in. The large garden is extremely secure with discreet wire fencing surrounding the whole of it. A great base for exploRead morering the Suffolk coast. There is also a pub at each end of the road, easily walkable, but will need a torch at night. We favoured The Queens Head, Blyford 0.7 miles. Great food and fantastic staff. The Star Inn didnt have a chef when we went, so no food. Parking is the only issue here. There is space for one car outside, but you will need to tuck it tight against the wall. However, there is a parking bay 25 meters further down the road. If you get a chance go to the Queens Head Inn at Bramfield. A 2.5 mile drive, but amazing. We will definitely book here again. Thankyou. Hide

A quant lovely cottage really comfortable and homely, only a short walk to the local pub, the Star Inn also very pleasant.

We were very happy with the cottage overall and have booked again for next year. The actual cottage was excellent and the garden perfect for our two dogs to use, being very large and fully enclosed. Japonica cottage was a lovely place to stay for a relaxing break with our two dogs! The decorating was done to a high standard, every room was fresh and clean! The whole place was very clean, with lots of thought being given to making guests feel comfortable, and at home! Myself, my husband and our two large dogs had a lovely week there! The gaRead morerden was large enough for them to have a good run, without fear of them escaping! It was very central for visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh, and surrounding areas! Lots of places to eat, and, an Edwardian cinema in Leiston which is well worth a visit if you like films! All in all..couldnt fault anything! Hide

Lovely cottage, everything provided, although the shop isnt too local you will need to drive. Halesworth co-op has everything you may need for your self catering stay. Excellent for visiting Southwold etc. as the areas are not too far away, which is a bonus. We had a wonderful week at Japonica Cottage. It was a cosy cottage, with a nice little garden, so ideal for the two of us and the dog. The village is lovely and quiet, with interesting, quirky houses and lots of places to walk. The Star is a great pub for a drink (we didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food) and the locals were very chatty anRead mored welcoming. Great base to explore Suffolk. The whole cottage was lovely, kitchen and oven especially superb our Xmas Dinner cooked perfectly , we did find sink in upstairs bathroom slightly annoying as water just went wverywhere but did not affect our stay

We experienced a leak from the bath/shower during our stay. Although it was a Sunday the problem was dealt with promptly by the management company and resolved quickly by their contractor. The cottage was exactly as advertised and the facilities good. The nearby Star Inn pub served excellent food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Good size well equipped cottage for me and my husband plus dog. Enclosed garden perfect for the dog and plenty of places for dog walks close by. Good pub a short walk away and southwold, Dunwich, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness a short drive away all worth a visit

Great property in the very friendly village of Wenhaston. Quiet, good garden for our dog and all the conveniences of home. Everything you could ask for is nearby including the wonderful Star Inn where the locals and their dogs were also very friendly. Visited many other village including Southwold, Bungay, Walberswick and Halesworth all within 20 mRead moreinutes and enjoyed their restaurants, pubs and shopping.
