Tucked away in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Grisedale offers awe-inspiring scenery and a tranquil escape. Located about 3 miles from both the Settle/Carlisle railway and Garsdale Station, it ensures easy access to transportation. Nearby, visitors can explore the picturesque village of Hawes, famous for its Wensleydale cheese (8 miles away), and Sedbergh (7 miles away). Despite once being labelled ‘The Dale that Died’ after a 1975 book and TV documentary, Grisedale has evolved into a peaceful sanctuary, showcasing exquisite natural beauty perfect for a relaxing getaway. Bird enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of avian species, including birds of prey. Wildlife lovers may also encounter red squirrels, stoats, hares, and deer nearby. Positioned close to the Pennine Way, the Three Peaks, and the Howgill Fells, Grisedale invites adventurers to explore its numerous hiking trails. Moreover, the nearby Ingleborough area boasts captivating limestone formations, while the Lake District beckons with its promise of further exploration and adventure (20 miles).

Enjoy the welcoming space as you walk through the front door. With lofty ceilings and characterful features, the open-plan lounge and dining room beckons you in for cosy evenings in front of the multi-fuel stove or breakfast whilst taking in the views. On the same floor, the kitchen offers all you need for your next staycation, well equipped to cook up a feast for two after a day in the dales. The bathroom, also on the ground floor, offers a walk-in shower. Heading up the funky spiral staircase leads you to the mezzanine bedroom with a double bed, perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Outside, you are free to enjoy the enclosed garden, where you can sip your morning coffee whilst taking in the expansive scenery. Make full use of the natural dark skies for an enjoyable evening of stargazing.

Beautiful and quirky cottage with a really interesting story. Very clean, and cosy once the fire is lit. Lovely comfortable bed and furnishings. Be prepared with your shopping and you'll be fine. The garden isn't necessarily "dog secure" especially when there's nosy sheep coming to say hello but easily manageable.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Beck House. We were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and amazing walks on the doorstep. We unfortunately only had two nights to play with but we could have easily stayed for a week. A perfect spot to escape our busy lives and base to explore the incredible Yorkshire Dales. We had our dog, Watson, and oRead moreur 6 month old son with us. Although a short stay, we have some perfect memories that will stay with us forever. We also managed to coincide our stay with very low temperatures (reaching -7 on the first night). The wood burning stove kept us cosy for the entire duration. I would highly recommend Beck House for an escape and base to explore the dales - Thankyou! Hide

Absolutely loved this cosy quaint cottage and surroundings. It was a perfect blend of tranquility and sheer beauty. Desperately needed a short break from busy palliative care caseload as a nurse and have come back to reality feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
