This spacious property is perfect for a couple or a solo traveller to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the Kent countryside. It is located just outside the charming village of Pluckley, which is believed to be one of the most haunted villages in Kent, but is also famous for the TV series, The Darling Buds of May. It is a great area for walking and cycling, and the local pub, The Rose and Crown in Mundy Bois, can be reached on foot in just under a mile. Slightly further afield (1.5 miles) is The Dering Arms, which specialises in seafood and serves a traditional as well as tapas menu. There is local shopping in the village store and at the Pluckley Farm Shop. Dering Woods (1 mile) is an ancient semi-natural woodland and is a nature lover’s dream with an amazing array of plants and wildlife. Further afield, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens is 9 miles away, or visit Leeds Castle (12 miles). For local wines, ciders, and apple juice, pop over to Biddenden Vineyards (8 miles) for a tour and tasting.

This property is in the owner’s garden, next to their barn, but enjoys its own patio and garden space. The front door opens into the spacious open-plan living room and dining area, and is dominated by a Smart TV. Settle back into the sumptuous, curved sofa with reclining chairs at each end and curl up to watch your favourite movie after an enjoyable day out. There is also a velvet chair and footstool, perfect for a quiet read, and a dining table with chairs in front of the bi-folding doors, opening out into the lovely garden with far-reaching countryside views. The kitchen has fitted units and is well equipped for preparing meals, and even has a dual air fryer. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a large rainfall shower head over a bath and WC. Upstairs, you will find the wonderful bedroom with a king-size bed, pretty windows and great views.

Step out the front door and into the garden, where you will find a rattan lounge set with a coffee table on the patio. There is also a table and chairs for outside dining, and a Weber charcoal BBQ, perfect for enjoying the tranquil garden setting. Your garden area and the owner’s garden share a gate and are linked.

We were really happy we chose this location as it was ideally situated in the heart of the Kent countryside and was the perfect base to explore the rest of the county. It was also easy to get to shops, takeaways and pubs for any food or provisions that we needed. The property itself was everything we could have hoped for. The cottage was comfortRead moreable and very well equipped, and the garden was a great place to relax and enjoy the good weather that we had. This all came at we thought was a very reasonable price, and compared very well with alternative properties that we considered. Finally we have to say a huge thank you to Chris and Amanda, the owners, who were exceptionally warm and welcoming, and extremely helpful. They made sure that our stay at the cottage was thoroughly enjoyable. We wholeheartedly recommend this property. Ged and Jackie Balk, Lancashire. Hide
