A little further on from Bakewell is Chatsworth House (7 miles), a private home with over 30 rooms open to the public, as well as gardens and a sculpture gallery. Walkers will be spoilt for choice with many walks both locally and in the surrounding area. The Monsal Trail can be picked up from Bakewell (6.5 miles) and follows 8.5 miles of the disused Manchester to London Midland Railway.
