This romantic cottage is nestled on the fringes of the Cotswolds in the peaceful village of Upton St. Leonards. Built from typical Cotswold stone, it was once an apple barn, but has now been converted into a charming retreat for a couple with up to two dogs in tow. The village itself is in an ideal location and offers a great base for lovers of the outdoors, who will enjoy trips to nearby Kites Hill Nature Trail, Painswick Beacon, and Painswick Rococo Gardens (all within 3 miles). Attractions slightly further afield include Gloucester Quays, Cheltenham Racecourse, Painswick, Nailsworth, Cirencester, and Tetbury (all within 15 miles).

On arrival to this charming cottage, take a moment to appreciate the beautiful, tranquil countryside that surrounds you. The property itself sits in the landscaped gardens of Bond End Farm, a Grade II-listed house where Henry VIII supposedly once stayed. Step inside and find that this history is reflected in the original features throughout the cottage, such as exposed wooden beams and stone walls. The social heart of the home is the open-plan lounge/diner, where you can sink into the lounge space’s comfy seating, fire up the wood burner, and flick on the TV. When stomachs start to rumble, walk through to the well-appointed kitchen where you’ll find everything needed to cook up a romantic feast, and head back to the living space where a cute dining table awaits. At the end of each day away, climb the staircase and find a peaceful king-size bedroom, and start each day with a soak in the well-appointed bathroom with its free-standing, roll-top bath.

Outside, make full use of the shared, 1-acre garden which is busy with colourful plants and tweeting birds – keep your eyes peeled for deer, pheasants and rabbits. Use the table and chairs out here to enjoy memorable al fresco meals together. Private parking for two cars is also available.
