Charming and comfortable all year round, this quaint shepherd’s hut for two is nestled on the fringes of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape and offers picturesque views over the surrounding countryside. The nearby Roman village of Leintwardine (2 miles) sits just north of the River Teme and provides outdoor enthusiasts with an abundance of walks and cycle paths to explore together. Close to the borders of Powys and Shropshire, you’re never too far away from adventure, including the scenic trails of Offa’s Dyke, which you can join in nearby Knighton (6.5 miles). Knighton, as well as the town of Presteigne (10 miles), offers the convenience of local amenities, along with a selection of country pubs to end a fun day of adventure. A day in Ludlow (12 miles) is a must, as are the historic sites of Berrington Hall (15.5 miles) and the castles of Croft and Stokesay (both within 13.5 miles).

Leave the hustle and bustle of the modern world behind as a few wooden steps lead you into the warmth of this handcrafted Welsh hut, which has been thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished to maximise space and comfort. The stylish kitchen provides all the equipment needed to rustle up a delicious meal for two. Serve dinner on the foldaway table in here or dine alfresco out on the scenic terrace. As the night draws in, step up into the double bedroom for a peaceful night’s sleep, which is perfectly positioned to maximise the stunning views that surround the hut. When you wake in the morning, open the curtains, make a brew, and admire the sights and sounds of nature from the comfort of bed. Enjoy lazy morning watching the TV here and start each day with an invigorating soak in the well-appointed shower room.

Heading outside, there is a private terrace in front of the hut with outdoor table and chairs from which you can dine alfresco or simply soak in the tranquil countryside views. Badger-faced sheep and resident ponies, Bobby and Sonny, graze in the fields before you, while the babble of an ancient mill stream, and birdsong create nature's playlist. Private, off-road parking for two cars is also available.

Badger Hut at Upper Buckton Farm is an absolute little gem. A compact home from home with everything you could ever need for the perfect stay. The owners, Jonathan and Mary were very friendly and ensured I was happy throughout my 5 day stay without being at all intrusive. I will definitely be returning within the next few weeks as I am hoping to buRead morey property in the area so have lots of viewings in Herefordshire and Shropshire. It was a pleasure to return to the warmth and comfort of Badgers Hut at the end of 5 very long days with lots of driving involved. The decor and soft furnishings are all absolutely gorgeous and I cant wait to return. Hide
