You’ll be located in a quiet hamlet just outside the village with a pub within 1 mile and shops, bars and restaurants in nearby Embleton (2.5 miles) including a great farm shop/delicatessen where you can stock up on treats. Embleton has a friendly golf club and from there, the coastal path leads directly to the sandy beach for a romantic stroll. For a low-tide walk from Embleton, head to Low Newton-by-the-Sea where you can enjoy a drink at the beachside pub. Beadnell Bay (7.5 miles) provides a stunning beach with dunes for picnics, rock pooling, an array of water sports, and a village store, two pub/restaurants, a beach café and a café/bistro. Craster’s pretty harbour (5.5 miles) has great seafood eateries and the coastal path from there leads to Dunstanburgh Castle (400 metres). Explore Alnwick Castle and Gardens (8 miles), and Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum (6 miles).

This former farm building is full of charm and character with vaulted ceilings and original exposed beams; it’s a warm and cosy holiday home for two with solar panels and underfloor heating throughout. Enter the boot room/utility area where you can store your outdoor boots and coats. There is a useful sink, a washing machine and a tumble dryer and a door leads to a shower room with a shower cubicle and WC. Head down the hallway to the light and airy open-plan living space with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. Bi-folding doors from the lounge area lead to the rear patio and garden and there are French doors at the far end which open to the side of the property. The lounge is furnished with a comfortable sofa and an easy chair, so you have space to relax and there’s an electric wood burner-style heater for extra cosiness if required. There is a Smart TV on the wall and books and games for your entertainment. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you decide to eat in, and the dining table has seating for four. The double bedroom is off the hallway overlooking the garden with an en-suite bathroom comprising a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside to the rear of the cottage, there is an enclosed, patio area with garden furniture so you can open the bi-folding doors in the warmer months and enjoy inside/outside living, dining alfresco and romantic dark sky stargazing. The cottage was not welcoming. The cracked and stained floors were stark and the presence of numerous plants was not good to look at. The sofa was so uncomfortable. Ikea was well represented. We left before our week was up. Sorry but its not 4 star.

Cozy cottage, a 5-minute drive from Embleton and Embleton Bay. Plenty of room for a couple and dog friendly. We found the cottage to be well equipped.

Lovely little cottage, in a very quiet location. Very close to the coast and some beautiful villages. Had everything that we needed in the kitchen.

Absolutely perfect in every way! We loved the layout of the cottage. It was extremely clean, spacious, well equipped, warm and cozy. The utility room with shower was really handy after our sandy, doggy, beach walks. The bed was really comfy with a good sized ensuite bathroom. The outside area was idyllic with a lovely furnished patio that openeRead mored up to a very spacious lawned area that our crazy Cockapoo loved to run around. The location was really good for visiting local villages! We would definitely recommend this place and hopefully, will be returning to soon! Hide
