Located in a lovely rural location, yet just 4.5 miles from the vibrant cathedral city of Ripon and 15 miles from the cosmopolitan Harrogate, this retreat offers the best of both worlds and can be enjoyed by small groups and families alike. But that's not all, the cottage sits between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the picturesque Howardian Hills which borders the North York Moors National Park. So, when it comes to all manners of outdoor pursuits, you can take your pick as to which direction to head in. Of course, you are surrounded by gentle countryside, so you need not stray too far if you'd prefer to stay close to home.

Make your way to the cottage through a pretty courtyard and step inside the French doors into a beautiful open-plan living area, the hub of your home from home. The warming tones of the furnishings and original artwork gives the space its welcoming atmosphere and character. The lounge area offers plenty of space for the whole group to cosy up in front of the wood burner and watch some TV of an evening. The traditional galley kitchen is home to all the amenities you'll need to cook up a hearty meal before sitting down to experience family dining at the chunky wooden dining table, bathed in sunlight from the French doors. Make your way upstairs to find two wonderfully finished bedrooms, the master is home to a French king-size and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is a sweet twin room boasting an en-suite shower room.

Step outside into a charming courtyard garden complete with a patio area and garden furniture, perfect for dogs and children alike. During the summer months, fire up the BBQ and enjoy some al fresco dining in the Yorkshire countryside. Sit outside of a morning with only the sound of birdsong for company as you sip your coffee; the most perfect start to your day. The cottage also offers off-road parking.

A really lovely, comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. Cosy and homely with everything needed for our stay. Good location, close to the towns of Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough. Visits to Fountains Abbey and Himalyan Sculpture Gardens a must.

Brilliant little cottage in an idyllic rural setting, good parking even for our SUV, everything, all we needed was at hand . Nearest shops about three miles away, but we could get everything we needed there in Boroughbridge. Highly recommended, we would love to go to this charming cottage again.

This is our second stay at Fig Tree Cottage and as before we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very well equipped with very comfortable beds. The surrounding area is well provided with places worth visiting within easy reach and the village has got a rather nice walk down a country lane. Highly recommended.
