We had a lovely week at Rose Cottage - the location is great with walks from the door in to Grizedale Forest. The beds are very comfortable too. The place is compact but fits in most essentials (we missed having a dishwasher!). Parking by the wall outside was fine for us. The village is quiet (amazing starry skies on the clear nights) and has a gooRead mored pub with food, with more options in nearby Hawkshead. Lots to see nearby and this was a good base to see it from. Hide

A cute cottage perfectly located for exploring the Lakes. Grizedale Forest is a short walk from the doorstep and you can fill the rest of your days with places no more than a short drive away. Would happily come back!

Rose Cottage is a beautiful old stone cottage in a very small village. A great pub a few yards away. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday. Lovely place. However although this is made very clear in the instructions, parking is a bit of a problem.

We had a really lovely holiday, weather was great. Cottage was comfortable and characterful., although kitchen is small , equipment is adequate. Lovely walks from the door, and very friendly pub down the road that serves really good pub food. Good holiday destination.

Really nice little cottage in a great little village. Small enclosed garden for dog to get some fresh air. Stairs can be a little steep for older people. I slipped down them once!

If you want peace and quiet, but not too far from adventures, this cottage is in the ideal location. The village of Satterthwaite is quaint and charming with a nice village pub. The cottage itself is cosy, clean and comfortable. Lots of local information leaflets and plenty of games and puzzles to keep you entertained. Good outside space at the reaRead morer, especially if you take a dog, although access through the garden from the neighbouring cottage is a drawback, and parking is limited. Hide

A lovely quaint cottage in a beautiful area. Enjoyed the evenings in front of the log fire. We were without WiFi for a couple of days due to a previous storm the week before which also affected the TV but Jacqui was prompt to get this fixed. The area was ideal for Read morewalks in Grizedale forest and handy for Go Ape in which I would definitely recommend. Hide
